Position
based in Charlottetown, P.E.I. available for suitable Electrical Engineering
candidate to join innovative multidisciplinary professional consulting
firm, dedicated to delivering excellent service in the fields of Architecture,
Engineering and Information technologies.
General Requirements:
A commitment to service excellence.
1 to 3 years progressive experience as a practicing Design Engineer in
a professional service firm setting. Experience in participating in or
leading design teams, and in cost estimating, scheduling, preparing and
delivering presentations. Working understanding of current design practices
and standards for constructability, functionality, serviceability, environmental
considerations, initial cost and long term operating costs. Expertise
in the design and preparation of working drawings and specifications for
the candidates respective disciplines and on-site experience during construction.
Must be available for regional and international travel.
Specific Skills/Abilities:
Excellent communication, writing and organizational skills are mandatory.
Knowledge and extensive experience in the day to day use of computer aided
engineering design applications in a Windows based environment (AutoCAD
2002), current microcomputer information processing technologies including
the Internet is mandatory. Must have a strong desire and ability to work
with minimal direction in a leadership and support role as part of an
interdisciplinary team developing and applying leading edge technologies.
Ability to deal with sophisticated clients in diverse markets. An understanding
of contract law fundamentals, project management and contract administration
practices, office and business management technique is highly desired.
Electrical Engineers Specific
Requirements:
Expertise in the design of electrical sub-stations, power, communication,
lighting, life safety and securing systems, for institutional, industrial,
and commercial facilities. Working knowledge of programmable controllers
and distributed control systems for efficient production facilities. Experience
with the selection of components that ensure optimum capabilities in processing
information and system diagnostics and in the start-up of field instrumentation
and control systems. Familiarity with electrical rate analysis will also
be on benefit. Hands on knowledge and use of leading electrical engineering
applications software.
Education:
Must hold a B.Sc. Eng., or B.Eng., preferably with an advanced
engineering or related degree. Must be registered as a Professional Engineer
with A.P.E.P.E.I. or be eligible for immediate registration. Multilingual
fluency is desirable.
