Queens County Highway Depot

The new site of the Queens County Highway Depot is located in Brackley, PEI on approximately eighty acres of land. Phases one and two of this five-phase project, included four roadways, storm water collection, a peat filtration pond, a sediment settlement pond, a relocated weigh scale facility, a relocated salt storage and brine manufacturing facility, and a bulk storage pad capable of storing 19,000 metric tons of sand. Phases three and four involved the integration of storage yards, paint/sign shop and unheated dry storage areas. Phase five involved the development of the administrative offices to accommodate the Provincial Department of Transportation, Infrastructure, Energy Queens County operations as well as Provincial Operations of Highway Maintenance and Queens County heavy and light fleet equipment repair operations. Coles undertook all disciplines of the design, documentation and contract administration including architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and civil engineering; for all five phases of this project.
